Dear Reader,
I am at work on a project that I know will interest you. I am making a handwritten transcription of The Gospel of Our Mother God. I'm presently at work on copying over the holy mythos of the Daughter. The book I am using for this has room for me also transcribe at least one other version of the sacred texts of the Filianic/Déanic faith.
My goals with this project are two fold.First, it is a meditative act of devotion. Secondly, it is for me to make notes comparing the different versions of the texts. I'd like to eventually have as full of a set of text variations as I can acquire and copy. This is a desire of mine because I want to study the texts as deeply as I can and I want to cross reference the different variations and, if possible, come up with an annotated set of texts that I can study when I hit a quandary in life.
I have decided on a red hard bound book for this project with archival quality paper and I have been using pens with archival quality ink. When I have filled this book up, I will be recopying it with pen and ink onto a blank book with archival quality paper and illuminating it. I expect this to be a very much long term project. I am thinking about making pages with black-work (embroidery technique) like ornamentation and reserving color for miniature figures and such. This part of the project, however, is still in the idea stage. The initial transcription into the red book is where my focus right now lies.
Blessings upon you and yours.

The People Have Spoken
The results of the poll are for more information on Filianism/Déanism and general witchery. I'm going to make some adjustments to blog posting schedule and topics.
Monday divination stuff is going to get grouped together with general witchcraft information. That daily topic will become focused on Filianism/Déanism. This will include discussion of research I am presently engaged in, theological quandaries, and exegesis of sacred texts. I will apologize in advance if my writing style on these topics tends towards somewhat dry. I am an academic by training on this front and it really shows up in my writing.
Tuseday's practical witchery is going to get more active and I'm going to give stuff like entry level Wicca knowledge and the basics of various forms of magical study priority here. Divination is a class of magical study that happens to be one of my favorite. It is not, however, the only one that I have studied. There will also be posts about historical witchcraft including reviews of books discussing historical matters and an assessment of the Malleus Maleficarum, one of the major texts used by witch hunters during the period of history of the Inquisition. (Side note: the Inquisition was never formally ended. It remains in a curious state of limbo.) Again, some of this stuff is going to be fact heavy and challenging to read. I will do my best to make it as entertaining as I can but there are going to be points where it simply won't be possible.
I am going to abandon the herbalism, treasures, and tools segment. If something interesting comes up, it will likely be posted in the practical witchery department. The Wednesday topic will be something random from week to week. It will also be the day that I post updates about books I'm working on and stuff like polls. It may also be the day that you get a little more of a personal post about how life has been going on the mundane front.
Thursday topics are going to be video posts and transcripts. Each month is going to have a theme to it. That month's theme will be announced the first post of the month. There will be other video posts going up with transcripts. The instructional videos will go with the topic of the day and the transcript will be in addition to any other things I have to say on the topic. I will also be posting some chants and prayers that I use in my daily devotions. I will apologize right now for the fact that my singing is not very well. It has been over a two decades since I really did any serious singing. Though I may not be terribly good at it any more, I will do my best to convey the music and such to you. Sadly, I don't have sheet music to share.
Fridays will remain days for recommendations. They will be for everything from products that work well for veiling purposes to witchery tools to books and the occasional recipe. I will invite you, my readers, to tell me what products you'd like me to review and if I can access them I will be happy to do so with a nod to your giving me the suggestion. Be prepared for a laundry list of divination tools being reviewed. I have a collection that I absolutely love and want to share with you.
Saturdays will be psychic life posts. Some of it may be about being a godspouse and mystic. Some of it may be about just the weirdness of my life as a psychic. (Like when I randomly told a stranger the color socks he was wearing in his combat boots because he annoyed me with his insisting I wasn't really psychic and his middle name, because his dead grandmother didn't approve of his harassing me.)
Sundays are going to feature a video and transcript. This is my stepping up to the plate as clergy. Consider it a homily of sorts, if you will. It is going to be addressing a wide range of topics and I will do my best to make sure it doesn't take up too much of your time. I will be referencing books in my library, which will be noted in the footnotes of the transcript. This bit of sermonizing is not because I have things to get off my chest but because the gods have given me a new task. If I have social questions and commentary, something like a letter to the editor sort of post, that will go up on Wednesday.
Some days may have multiple posts. Other days may have very short posts. I am in the early stages of getting back on my feet after serious illness and life challenges. I thank you for sticking with me this far. I hope that we can go much farther into the future together.

Godspousery Notes: A Witch's Rosary.
So, I was super anxious yesterday when Loki gently encouraged me to make something. (Read drained my computer battery to the point it needed to charge and refused to let me post on twitter or anywhere else because my internet connection suddenly went on the fritz.) I got out my beading stuff and decided I was going to attempt to learn how to do a new beading technique. Next thing I know, I have a four decade 'rosary' with a pentacle hanging off as the terminal.
Loki then says, "There. Now you have a tool for spell casting you can take anywhere. And use for meditating on anything with out much notice from anyone. But those spells, though..."
Behold my children's glorious artwork on the cabinets behind me! My hand is covering up the reindeer with three horns and three eyes. It is awesome.
About the witch's rosary: the connector is silver plated with glass beads on it. It is recycled from broken jewelry. The pentacle terminal is recycled jewelry. The first decade is for the element of Water. The 'hail' beads are recycled faceted plastic and the spacer beads between them are blue glass seed beads that I got as a gift ages ago from a friend. The spacer bead between the 'paternoster' bead is a light blue colored tube style bead with the larger bead being green glass. The next decade has yellow spacer beads for Fire. The decade after has white spacer beads for Air. And the final decade has black spacer beads for Earth.
I will be doing more spell casting in the near future. Partly because I have to get back into the habit and partly because I've been directed to do so by multiple deities. This is my newest tool. I'll post next Wednesday how it works and a better picture of it.

Taking a break from writing, to write some more.
Gentle Reader,
I am presently working on writing a book. I've managed to write myself into a corner. Thus, I am posting here to give you all an update on how things are going. My doctors have made some adjustments to the medications I am taking. Fortunately, my mercurial health insurance company agreed to go along with these changes. As such, I am on the path to better health.
The diabetes thing is still very much a work in progress. My blood sugar numbers are beginning to come into the range of 'normal' as long as I maintain my strict dietary protocol. I have lost a significant amount of weight in the process of it all. My general practitioner is of the opinion that there may need to be further medication adjustments made. I see him in a month and a half to assess what progress has been made. It is a struggle that I refuse to lose. I simply can not accept the idea that I'm going to lose my health and welfare because my pancreas is not working properly. I know of many diabetic people who are healthy and manage their condition well. It is my goal to be among them.
My depression is much improved with the help of my psychiatrist. Having a doctor that actually listens to me is a wondrous thing. I am not going to say I am entirely past the depressive episode, but I think once I adjust to the new medication situation I will be. Just another week or so. I know that I am improving because I am writing again and I have a little less despair over everything. I am a touch stumped on how to proceed forward with this blog. I have a poll that you can take that would help me out a great deal.
We are currently dealing with oppressive heat and humidity. Fortunately, I haven't been a ball of pain due to migraines. I'm not sure if that will happen when the front finally comes through and the heat wave breaks. Still, things are improving to the point that I am able to see clearly with out my glasses for the most part and I can keep up with my busy children (and almost as busy husband). This is a huge improvement over where I was at just a month ago. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. I am sure they helped as much as the assistance of my care providers.
Yours in gratitude,
Deb aka Cydira aka The Veiled Witch
